We have just finished glueing down all the fantastic artwork created by Y4, Y5 and Y6 at Stradbroke School to make an enormous 12ft long collage based on the theme of Brazil. We worked with the children during Arts Week to make rainforest animals, trees, birds, favelas, carnival people and athletes.
It looks amazing, especially with the lights in the favelas!
We are also just finishing off the reading murals at Malin Bridge School. Each pupil in Year 6 has painted their favourite book character onto 5 large plywood books that will be displayed in the playground. We noticed how quiet in concentration the children were whilst drawing and painting their characters, and their attention to detail and enthusiasm for the characters shines out from the work they did.
Comment from a parent:
Finley, who doesn’t usually enjoy art contrary to the family genes, enjoyed his session with you both at school so much he said this morning he wishes he could do it again. Well done!
