Well done to all the fantastically creative Year 6 children from Porter Croft. Over 3 days they drew and painted 8 Great Britons and various landmark buildings to create an amazing 3 panel mural. The first step was drawing an outline of the person or building onto the board using chalk before filling the picture in using acrylic paints. After that some of the children tried using calligraphy ink pens to write out quotes from the Great Britons and add some labels and inspirational words. The final day was spent putting on the fine details such as faces, Henry VIII’s outfit, Florence Nightingale’s lamp light and the magical elements of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The very last thing to be painted was the red, white and blue border. We think it looks superb!
